Stable Influence

I’ve lived well off

I’ve lived with the poor

I am living well off

And all too often, I just want stability

The Democrats want Change

The Republicans want Reform

The Libertarians want both and neither

All too often, I just want stability

I hear about wars, and even see movies and pictures

I hear about peace, and have read books and heard stories

I hear about dreams of something better, a utopia

However, all too often, I just want stability

I hear about the bull, and the bear

I hear about recessions and depressions

I hear about inflation and the economy

But, all too often, all I want is stability

I hear about the Gospel of the Poor

I hear about the Gospel of Prosperity

I hear about the Gospel of Jesus

Yet, all too often, I just want a stable influence

On Christmas Day, our stable influence is born,

The King of Kings, Lord of Lords.
