Child, have I told you about the man I met today?
He told me that he didn’t want to go one for one more day
He was frustrated, sick of this world and wanted no more
He knew what it was like to be rich, to be poor
Child, have I told you about the man I met today?
He told me about all his pain, hurts, troubles and
frustrations
He talked about not being able to walk, not being able to
work
He told me about his joints, about all those aching quarks
Child, have I told you about the man I met today?
He told me about his past, which haunts him and causes only aggravations
He told me about the men he has killed, and the mistakes
that he made
He told me about fights, jail, and regrets that he’s futilely
repaid
Child, have I told you about the man I met today?
He told me that he didn’t want to go one for one more day
He was frustrated, sick of this world and wanted no more
He knew what it was like to be rich, to be poor
Child, have I told you about the man I met today?
I told him about all the good that he’s done
I told him about the lives he’s changed, and the lives that
he’s changing
I talked to him about gratitude, and thanking
Child have I told you about the man I met today?
He told me that he didn’t want to go one for one more day
He was frustrated, sick of this world and wanted no more
I have to admit, I really can’t argue my point anymore
