Dear Sun,
I stand here and wait for you, Sun.
Just before Dawn,
wishing it was already done
The moon, the stars, the birds, and darkness wait
They’re waiting to know where to go on from here
Waiting for darkness to stay or the pain go away.
I am standing here, waiting, no longer with any fear.
The weight on my shoulders is as heavy as if ever was
It will never be relieved, this I know
Yet I grow in strength to preserver
No one to take the burden, just the inability to forget the
world’s woes
I am as strong as ever
I can run further then the day before
I can deal with more pain, emptiness, and shallowness
This burden will never be lifted, but tomorrow I will be
better able to endure
Another hero has died
One by one, they go without their sins undone
Just a few left to lead the way
I know this fate will eventually come to my father’s son
Hello Sun,
The burden is here to stay,
Now you can see me and I can you
As you shine your light, I decide to start another day
The inevitable is just that
As my heroes die, I become one
Not one to stand forever
But to fall in the end under the weight of a ton
Sun do you remember,
The old man who
wanted to cry?
Suicide was in mind
But he’s strong enough to wait his time to die
Do you remember the pain in his voice
Trembling, not yet broken, with thoughts in the mind
But he was never who he once was
He ached and hurt but not of a physical kind
How about the man who lost it all?
Like the man Job, no more house, no more contents
No more family, Just three failing friends
Do you remember his statements?
How about the child who never had a chance?
No home for him to lay his head?
No parent to bring him to bed?
Do you remember his ignorance of things to come without it
being said?
I’ll tell you a new one,
A woman with no one around
She believed everyone, throughout the town
She was had before she knew, before she was found
In the life she lived
She was surrounded by hate, deceit, and her own fear
Many tried to reach her but couldn’t
Just toss that on my shoulders with all the others, no tears.
I’ll tell you of another one.
This man drank, until anger filled his eyes
He didn’t know where he was going,
He didn’t know what was his demise
I talked to him, I tried
I pointed him right, yet he disapproved
You know one day he just up and died.
Just another burden that won’t ever be removed.
I have many many more stories to tell you
However, let me remind you, as my heroes die
I will be here every morning
Just so I can stare into your omnipotent eye
Don’t forget my strength
At times I may look down
But underneath is power, All I have to do is catch my breath
And then I am ready to go for round after round
So next time you come around
Remember my name
Not for pride or fame
But so you know who to surround
