When I Wake

When I wake,
I have no friends,
I don’t have any enemies.
No family to be obliged to,
No profession to demand my efforts.
I don’t have any debt,
I have no savings.
No Devil to tempt me to hell,
No Jesus to offer me Heaven.
I feel no pain to slow me down,
I have to joy to encourage me along.
When I wake, it’s the best part of my day.
Those five seconds until my feet hit the floor.
